Introduced by M&G Solid Fuels in 2012, Newburn™ is our fully authorised, "Ready To Burn", HETAS approved solid fuel briquette. We believe it is the best on the market. It is comprised of the best cokes from the Americas along with top quality Anthracite from here in the UK, and a little bit of our blending magic. The Newburn briquette shape and design follows the same principles as the Burnwell Blend, being not only a pleasing shape but also serving functionally for strength, ability to light and airflow to keep the fire burning. According to legend the name Newburn comes from the view we have of the Newburn Bridge just outside our offices around the corner from Burn Road in Hartlepool, England.

Newburn Smokeless Briquettes begins with a our relentless focus on quality. Our focus is always on quality, not false economy. Newburn begins with selecting the highest quality raw materials and creating a process to consistently monitor production and performance standards time after time. Many briquettes do not burn as hot as Newburn, or do not last as long as Newburn, or are more ashy than Newburn. In some cases all three. This results in inefficient briquettes. Some briquttes do not offer the same environmentally friendly credentials as Newburn with low sulphur levels and low smoke emission levels. The ideal is to create a briquette which burns hot, is long lasting and low ash, all at a reasonable price, while incorporating the exacting standards of full HETAS Approval and the UK's Ready To Burn scheme for a more enviromentally friendly standard.
